New Financial Aid Letter

A college education is one of the most significant investments students will make during their lifetimes, and it’s important for them to understand the ins and outs. Wisconsin Act 284 docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2015/related/acts/284 requires institutions of higher education to provide information to students about their educational costs.

Therefore, financial aid offices at all UW System campuses will email personalized, detailed information to each student about the costs of education, financial aid information (including interest charges and estimated monthly loan repayments) and the resources available to help with college costs. The notifications will begin this fall.

The letter is written in clear language that includes positive statements about how students can get the most value from this important investment in themselves.

Here are today’s takeaways:

  • Specific info will be emailed to each student.
  • Financial aid offices are friendly places where students and families can feel comfortable asking all the questions they need in order to understand the unfamiliar world of college finances.
